Miranda Scott - Coach

Miranda has been twirling since she was two years old. She took lessons from the amazing Sherry Vignoli-Parisi near Pittsburgh, PA and became a member of the Modernettes twirling Corp when she was 13 years old. During her time with the Modernettes, they won ten grand national titles along with two world championship titles: Italy in 2015 and Norway in 2018. Individually, she has won multiple titles on the state, regional, and national level. Including being an eight time Miss Majorette of West Virginia, three time Elmore Memorial Cup recipient, TU International strut, solo, & three baton champion, and national/world open finalist in strut, solo, and two baton. She represented Ohio University in 2017 and 2018 at NBTA nationals, placing in the top 20 out of over 100 contestants each time.

Throughout middle school and high school, she was the feature twirler for the Federal Hocking Marching Lancers for a total of six years. Before moving away from competitions and becoming a show band, she had won multiple class auxiliary awards and superior ratings at OMEA competitions. During her college career, she performed at multiple halftime performances at men’s and women’s basketball games. In 2018, she helped restart the Ohio University Bobcat Twirlers. They have performed at numerous events across the university and have held very successful clinics for two years now. In the fall of 2020, the Bobcat Twirlers competed in the Collegiate Spectacular, where the team placed in the top ten from teams across the nations. Miranda has been a coach for Ohio University Bobcat Twirlers since graduating in May of 2021.

Miranda began teaching in the Spring of 2020. Since then, she has worked with multiple students from Ohio and West Virginia. She is so excited to have the opportunity to continue teaching and help twirlers find their their love for baton twirling!

Miranda currently resides in Columbus, Ohio and works full time as an Interior Designer at Pat Scales Remodeling. She also loves spending time with her fiancé, Tyler, and her three black cats; Beethoven, Sulli, and Kiki!

Fun Facts

Miranda loves the sport of baton twirling because you can learn so many life skills while still making friends, traveling, and having fun. Her favorite solo trick is a five spin catch blind but she also loves three baton and fire baton! Her favorite twirling memory is when she had the opportunity to travel abroad to compete in the WFNBTA world championships and brought home two gold medals. She is so excited to work with Phoenix Twirlers and can't wait to see what this team can do!
