Emily Barker
Student Teacher

Emily is from Washinton, West Virginia, and joined the Phoenix Twirlers in March 2023. Her very first twirling competition was the 2023 DMA West Virginia Regional Championships, where she and her team brought home a regional title, an incredible achievement for her first time competing! This was not only was this her first time with the Phoenix Twirlers, but this was also her first time competing all together. What a memorable experience!

Emily loves being part of such a welcoming and supportive team. She appreciates how everyone feels like family and is always willing to help one another. She recently competed individually for the first time at the 2024 West Virginia State Championships, earning two second-place awards. Later that season, she competed in her first pageant, placing in the top three in all her events and top three overall. In May 2024, she earned multiple first-place awards and was crowned the 2024 Twirling Unlimited WV Regional Senior Basic Skills Pageant Winner.

Emily has grown into a wonderful leader and role model for the younger members of the team. Though she may be quiet, she leads by example, always focused and determined. She’s excited to continue learning new tricks, mastering her two spins, and performing new solo and team routines throughout 2026!
