Emily Barker
Emily is seventeen years old and is from Parkersburg, West Virginia. She joined Phoenix Twirlers in March of 2023. Her very first twirling competition was the 2023 DMA West Virginia Regional Championships. Emily and her team brought home a regional title. This was also Emily's first time ever competing! Her favorite team memory was the DMA Miss Majorette of West Virginia Competition where her team brought home an outstanding team award. This was the first time a routine that Emily was in had received this award.

Emily is very excited to be a part of a team that is very welcoming. She loves that everyone is like a family and that her teammates are so willing to help out one another. She recently competed individually for the very first time at the 2024 West Virginia State Championships, where she brought home two second places. She recently competed in her first ever pageant and where she placed in the top three in all of her events and top three overall! This May, she earned multiple first places and earned the title of 2024 Twirling Unlimited WV Regional Senior Basic Skills Pageant Winner.

Emily has become a great leader and twirler for our younger members to look up to. Although she can be quiet, she leads by example. She is always locked in and focused on the task ahead. She is looking forward to learning more new tricks and working on mastering her two spins. She is also very excited to be competing individually and putting new solo and team routines on the floor in 2024!
Fun Facts
Emily's favorite tricks are horizontal one spins and any type group or partner exchange. She is a great role model to all of our younger members and leads by example. She is very kindhearted and is always willing to help out a teammate in need. Emily loves baton twirling and finds it very relaxing, especially when she is surrounded by her friends. When she has free time during practice, she can always be found working on her solo routines and new skills.
